    Default Want to jailbreak (Help me get there) – 01-07-2011,08:19 PM
    I have PS3 Slim 3.5 FW. I want to buy a dongle and downgrade, then jailbreak and install backup manager(I have over 30 games and a 2TB HDD). What dongle should I get? What tutorials do I need to look at? Thanks for all the help

    Did it come with 3.50 and was it new? If, so you VERY likely won't be able to downgrade.

    Keep and eye on the scene, some massive developments have happened recently, and likely soon jailbreaking won't be needed at all. Any ps3 will be able to run homebrew without the use of a usb device.

    Yes, A 3.55 "jb" (cfw) is available, no >3.55 "jb" or cfw yet.
    Yes, A 3.55 downgrade is available. But not to lower than stock firmware! (What it came with)
    No >3.55 downgrade is out there yet.

    Well, whilst he didn't know about the new problem with 3.50 slims (stickied topic btw), i credited him on the fact that he did not ask for a 3.50 jailbreak, like most other new users.

    I upgraded it to 3.5. And I think once I get started I can get the ball rolling on doing anything else. My issue is that I don't know where to start. Thanks for the advice. What do u mean dongles won't be needed anymore. Is there a new method being poc'd

    Well, if you upgraded to 3.50, then downgrading is possible. At the moment you can't downgrade if you go to 3.55, but that is being worked on.
    We have keys to decrypt firmware, and sign homebrew for any ps3 out there atm. At the moment there are problems with npdrm (sony drm) and packaging homebrew, but we will get there. Have a look on the forums, and decide if you want to buy a dongle, by the time it arrives, it may no longer be needed. No more spoonfeeding.

    well just use amazebreak.. go to amazebreak.cc there i think u can download the latest update then choose update 11...

    update 11 i think is u can downgrade ur slim to 3.41...

    but i'm on 3.50 nw
