I probably should have started a new topic. I've got no problem preventing the ps3 from accessing the internet. I've got a router running tomato so with access restrictions I can prevent that mac address from using the internet while still allowing lan access for ftp. The problem with this setup is that homebrew like multiman also has no access to download covers or update. I'd like to prevent access to only to psn. If someone knows the ip addresses to block it would be a quick fix.
Well here is what I ended up doing. Routers running tomato firmware have an access restriction feature. First I added the MAC address for my PS3 and checked block all internet access and all day every day. That worked for allowing ftp but mutiman couldn't update or download covers. Instead of preventing all internet I blocked all sites with "playstation or ps3" in them using this guide How To: Block Access To Specific Websites from your Router using Tomato Firmware | r3dux.org. I also blocked ports.
TCP/UDP, port 3478
TCP/UDP, port 3479
TCP/UDP, port 5223
TCP/UDP, port 443
Now I can use the browser (as long as I don't try to get to a playstaion page) and multiman can update and download covers. If I try to login to psn I get "An error has occurred. You have been signed out of PlaystationNetwork.(80710736)".
I'm hoping this will prevent any updates. Netflix seems to connect but fails when I can't login to psn. Maybe down the road someone can figure out how to spoof that login.
When manually changing ip on the PS3 I get the option IP, Subnet Mask, Default Router, Primary DNS and Secundary DNS.

I've got a TP WR1043N Router BTW
Edit: Got it to work with manual IP, Subnet Mask, Default is indeed gateway 18.104.22.168., Primary DNS is DNS of router, secondary blank.
FTP working but no internet connection.
