Using ****psn, getting 80029780 error while downloading content from the PSN Store

Hi there:

3.55 Kmeaw with True Blue Dongle v2.7, able to log into the PSN and play some (most old) backups. While trying to download some of the DLC's and online passes I bought on my 2nd OFW PS3, I keep on getting this error during the "activating" phase: 80029780. Googled it a bit, looks like it has to do with PS3 not being activated or something. But under account management it says my CFW PS3 IS activated... Anyone else came across this weirdness??? I've been Googling but haven't found any coherence in ppl's experiences of this error.

Some people are reporting problems with PSN connection, playing online works, but it isnt possible to download stuff atm.

It also means that your account is now under the 7-day download/activate ban. I had the same issue and I couldn't even download stuff on my 4.11 PS3 and I had to wait 7 days before I could do so. Also don't bother calling up Sony as when I did, everyone I spoke to treated me like a criminal even though I didn't do anything wrong.

For now the only stuff you can download is anything that doesn't require activation like demos. Anything requiring activation cannot be download on a CFW PS3 as 4.11 uses different activation servers than 3.55 did. For now there is nothing you can do.

Actually id depends on when the item was purchased. seems I'm able to download anything I got before 11/1/2011. and the only time I recieve the actiavation error is on newer items....

FYI if you go change your email address linked to the account you can reactivate your console but try downloading anything from 11/1/11 or newer and it will lock you out again and deactivate your downloaded and activated PSN titles.

yeah, I can download the old stuff I already downloaded from last year, but no new stuff like mad mike is saying. E3 flasher should work. You'd have to upgrade to real 4.11 to do whatever downloading you want, then downgrade back to 3.55. So yeah, no real solution at the moment

When you do that you have to reformat the hard drive if you downgrade right? Well at the very least use a second hard drive.

I'm not sure if you have to reformat, but yes a second hard drive and the E3 dual boot setup would work out pretty well for this. I've got the extra hard drive, but not the E3 flasher. I was going to pick one up this month, but I ended up having to use that money for the optometrist. Priorities and all that

Then why after trying to download something on my CFW PS3 and getting the error, I was blocked from downloading anything on my OFW PS3? The only things I could download were demos and anything that didn't require activation.

I have no idea but its only and I repeat only giving me this error when both consoles have been activated properly and I try to download something from 11/1/11 or later. It then keeps giving me the error on my CFW console only and I can get around it by changing the Email that is registered to the account then reactivating the console. however nothing will let me access those newer titles...
