    Which websites are the ones I need to block to ensure the PS3 never contacts Sony? Or do I need to completely block the PS3 from the internet?

    Also, where are the files that are uploaded? Specifically, the one where they upload information about my home network. I'm curious.

    Edit: Ports? I meant URLs

    Don't fall prey to sensationalist journalism. Game lists are not being sent to sony.

    The blocking is to prevent Sony from someday stealth updating my PS3 (as they did with that 3.41 update to fix the Hard Drive).

    The XML I saw in another topic... someone on #PS3Dev said they found an XML that contains data on your home network, and is sent off to Sony.

    Best way is to block all access to the internet by not giving the ps3 a default gateway. Second best is to block access to the entire playstation.net domain

    That this file exists I have no doubt. I can assure you that it is not being sent to sony if you are not logged on to psn, and there is no evidence of that it being sent then either. Its just a paranoid rumor that has become popular because fear sells.

    If you have a Tomato router (I think DD-WRT also has dnsmasq) use this:

    Code:
    address=/fus01.ps3.update.playstation.net/1.1.1.1
    address=/mercury.dl.playstation.net/1.1.1.1
    address=/nsx.np.dl.playstation.net/1.1.1.1
    address=/nsx-e.np.dl.playstation.net/1.1.1.1
    address=/us.np.stun.playstation.net/1.1.1.1
    address=/ena.net.playstation.net/1.1.1.1
    address=/dus01.ps3.update.playstation.net/1.1.1.1
    address=/auth.np.ac.playstation.net/1.1.1.1
    address=/service.playstation.net/1.1.1.1
    address=/creepo.ww.hl.playstation.net/1.1.1.1
    That will block all of the Sony PSN domains.

    Otherwise, you'll have to look into OpenDNS

    Could I firewall out these domains out with ip's on my D-Link DIR-615 ruter?
    If so, any idea how? Thanks in advance.

    Check to see if it's compatible with Tomato or DD-WRT firmware. I think it is...

    Custom router firmware rocks. Tomato lets me monitor usage from specific users, even has an easy way to look up MACs to see who makes it (very handy for identifying my Samsung Plasma's IP when running a shell from it)
