Urgent help needed for an absolute IDIOT

I was trying to temporarily move the "GAMES" folder (that multiman uses) in hdd0 via blackbox ftp and I'm pretty sure I've accidentally also moved "game". Everything is still listed in the XMB but all the icons are gone and nothing will start. Is there anything I can do to fix this? I feel like blowing my brains out right now for my stupidity. Please someone tell me I can save my stuff, it would take absolutely forever to replace it all.

Have you tried moving it back with multiman file manager? or another file manager?

I thought of that but multiman (along with absolutely everything else) won't run. I get "error occurred during the start operation".

Install OpenPS3FTP and use that

I tried reinstalling blackbox but it still wouldn't start. I'm assuming the same would happen with openps3ftp but I can try anyway.

Try installing multiman again, it will probably recreate the game folder if you actually did move that folder and should work and the only hassle will be moving each folder inside the old game folder to the new one(i wouldnt delete the new game folder and replace it with the old one just in case)
If you try the next method you will probably have to reinstall all your packages so only as a last resort since thats the problem. If that doesnt work go to recovery menu and select Restore File System and when thats finished select Rebuild Database and when thats finished try the first method I mentioned
If still doesnt work you'll probably have to do a full format

Ahhh I see, you moved the game folder not the games folder, Have you tried the ps3 recovery menu to rebuild file system or database?

multiman installed ok and i moved everything back to it's original place but now everything except multiman and blackbox is gone. blackbox still won't start. I think a format may be the only way. It's less gutting now that I can at least get most of my games copied back over to PC first I suppose.

ok cool now do Rebuild Database in recovery menu

Can't get into Recovery menu, PS3 won't shut down properly. Every time I try it hangs a bit, does the three beeps then goes off. Trying to get into Recovery doesn't work now. What a nightmare over one slip of a mouse.
