Upgrading from OFW 3.55 , confused

Hello ,

so i have been doing a lot of research recently and I'm still confused about the process of upgrading from 3.55 OFW to Rebug 4.21 , all the guides are for going from CFW 3.55 but mine is unmodified, some guides mention that i can just upgrade from the XMB directly, while others say that it's better through recovery(even though i'm on OFW) and to make sure to enable QA first . So i don't know what to do ? use XMB ? recovery ? or go to kmeaw 3.55 and set QA then use recovery to go to 4.21? appreciate the help .

Definitely QA, use XMB if going to rebug, use recovery if going to rogero.

Thanks for your replay , alright so the path I'm gonna take is :

3.55 OFW ---> 3.55 CFW through recovery ---> Toggle QA ---> Back to OFW through recovery---> Rebug 4.21 from XMB

Is that right ? what will happen if i skip QA and just straight go to Rebug 4.21 from XMB ?

I wouldn't advise that. If you dont QA always chance of semi brick, QA ing will only help you.

theres no excuse not to QA its easy get this: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/64707444/To.../toggle_qa.pkg and then just run it on CFW, then check to make sure it worked via button config on network settings, takes 5 minutes MAX

i agree if your on 3.55 OFW just install 3.55 kmeaw then install the toggle_qa pkg then test it by going down to network settings and holding R2, L2, L3 and press down you should see a debug menu show up if it does your good to go now install 4.21.1 Rebug and your golden

I see , now i understand , i will processed with that as soon as i get my console on Monday . Thanks a lot for the help guys .

If you're certain that your console has never been playes with/downgraded at all, then don't break your head.

I'm a noob here, though I researches a lot. On my fat PS3, I went directly from 3.41 (equal to the 3.55 in your case) to KMEAW 3.55, then directly to Rogero 4.30 v1.02. BOTH were updated through the recovery menu WITHOUT QA as it's not necessary if no downgrade was done. I did it this week, and it was a painless 10 minute exercise.

You should be fine...YMMV
