I'm on 3.41 and I have jailbroken my PS3. I'm trying to upgrade my hard drive. When I switched my hard drives and turned my console on a screen popped up saying that I needed to insert a USB drive that had 3.41 firmware on later. Is that all I have to do, just put 3.41 on a USB drive? Will my PS3 being jailbroken affect that at all? Will I have to rejailbreak my PS3? I just want to make sure I'm not going to brick or anything.

I'm not an expert at PS3 modding but I can tell you this. Your PS3 itself can't be "jailbroken" without the dongle being run. The PS3 only enters "jailbreak mode" when you power + eject and the dongle activates. All you'll have to do is re-install any .pkg files you had before, such as backup managers or ftp servers.

thats normal on the later fat and all the slim models i think. They need to reload the firmware since it cant be stored on board. Just do what it says. AS long as the memory stick has 3.41 FW on it your good to go. I went through this once also without problems when upgrading my original 40gb phat to a 250gb drive.

as long as you use 3.41 the jailbreak will not be affected. You'll probably have to reinstall any backup managers or ftp servers you intalled but otherwise you will still be able to jailbreak just fine as long as your using 3.41
