Upgrading to 3.50 to get online safe?
Upgrading to 3.50 to get online safe? –
Hey all, sorry if this is in the wrong section.
I was running jailbreaked PS3, and upgraded to 3.50 to play GT5.
I should have done a format of the harddrive as now I am not sure if its SAFE to go online? I didnt do any cleaning of the drive before I upgraded (DOH!)
Now my main issue here is trying to keep my gran turismo 5 game save files, what are my options?
The save files appear to be "copy protected" within the backup utility. So this appears to rule out backing them up and formatting my drive and doing a fresh firmware install.
Any advice welcome
Just to clear it up, I know I have lost jailbreak now but not an issue.
If they're copy protected, there really isn't any other option. You can try the other utility in there (Not data backup/restore, but the transfer PS3 system util). Not sure if it needs a 2nd PS3 or just a external HDD/thumbdrive, but it's worth a shot.
Noone knows for sure but I really doubt they'll ban you. They know that anyone with a hacked system can't gain access to the PSN so why would they bother investigating the file contents of your system?
I'd format it though anyway, you've got a load of games on there you can't access/delete.
