Upgrade to 4.0 with remarried drive

is it possible to upgrade a ps3 to 4.0 with a remarried bd-drive?
the bd playback isn't back though, but nevermind, is after the upgrade the dvd playback still possible?

OK, what i meant is ... is there a chance of losing the dvd playback (because bd playback is gone after the remarry process of this drive) when i want to upgrade my ps3 from 3.55 to 4.0?
Are there known issues about that ?

I would perform the upgrade with the internal update-service from the ps3 itself ... so no FSM or something similar ...

Why don't you just sell or trade with someone who wants CFW? People are paying $60+ for hardware downgraders while you want to loose CFW.
3.55 or lower consoles are getting harder and harder to find.
