Updating to 3.42

I love the jailbreak, but if I can't get online, my PS3 is pretty much useless for playing online games and unfortunately I don't have the money to get another one to have two ps3's.

I am very tempted to update to 3.42 and loose my JB abilities, in return for the ability to play my games online again with friends.

Just want some input from you guys and or suggestions on what I should do...

Anyone else in this situation? Should I wait it out on 3.41 and hope of an exploit soon that would allow getting online w/o 3.42?

Hey if you're that desperate no one is stopping you mate but if it was me' I'd wait a few weeks, maybe custom firmwares will be possible in the near future

I feel your pain and its hard going without online but i myself am going to hold out and i think you should do the same good things come to thoses who wait. It's just a matter of time. even more so with the FW Loader.

nothing will come allowing you to go online without 3.42, the people who know how to do that know how much it would **** PSN up. hopefully something will come that'll allow you to load 3.42+ (unpatched) from 3.41, probably possible now thanks to jaicrabs loader, we just need the dev_flash files...

cant u jailbreak and then go online? or will it not let you connect even with the JB?

Here's the way I look at it. Eventually games will require 3.42 to play. Also, eventually all systems on-sale will be pre-installed with 3.42. Unless the PS jailbreak exploit can evolve beyond 3.41, it won't matter much in the long term. It'd basically be a short term thing with little to no effect.

So if you want to update, go ahead.
