UPDATES - Possible Solution/New research! Help needed!

As short and as sweet as possible to avoid any confused people.

[this works... but once your restart your ps3 its dead, shame]

-Tekken 6 – worked 1st time

-Blur – worked 1st time

-Ghost Busters –installed game data 1st - downloaded updates - worked

-mafia II - worked 1st time

-resistance II - installed game data 1st - downloaded both updates 'a bitch' worked

-resident evil – installed game data 1st - downloaded update ' move screen showed no move support

-borderlands - installed game data 1st - applied update -worked

-orange box - installed game data 1st - applied update -worked

-red dead - insatlled game data st - applied update - worked

So we can now see what we learned.. And what needs to be done!
--method works on internal and external
--the game version can be read from a folder in /dev_hdd0/folder and update isn't asked 'that works'
--so when you install a package file via demo installer something else happens apart from extraction
--its very tricky dealing with more than 1 update file.. edit the SFO to ease the process

I need more help now.... help if u want my eyes are bleeding!... get your test on people

Hardware Used:
• Ps3 slim [640gig internal 5400 hd]
• Minimus
Software
• A Game
• Prototype Promo EUR [needed for disk in drive groove]
• Ps3 Proxy Server by CFB35
• Demo Manager [Google]
• Flash Fxp [30 day trail]
• PsGroove v1.1
• FTP Server v1.1

Method 1 game dosn't install
1. Setup proxy and give it a test by using the ps3 web browser [check the log file for results]
2. Start a game which needs an update, let it start then cancel it.
3. Using the proxy app’s link download the pkg to your pc.
4. Use demo manager to package it (if there is more than one update you may want to use ‘PSN Demo Installer’)
5. FTP the folder to /dev_hdd0/vsh/task/
6. Restart the ps3 in retail mode [non-jailbreak] and install the update through the game menu then restart the ps3 in jailbreak mode
7. Start the ftp app them move the update folder from /dev_hdd0/game/ to /dev_hdd0/ by ftp’ing to your PC deleting the current folder then back again.
8. Start game.. enjoy

Method 2 game does install

[Install the game data in the usual manner then FTP in with ftp app 1.1 and chance the directory name]
3. Using the proxy app’s link download the pkg to your pc.

5. FTP the folder to /dev_hdd0/vsh/task/
6. Restart the ps3 in retail mode [non-jailbreak] and install the update through the game menu then restart the ps3 in jailbreak mode
7. Start the ftp app them move the update folder from /dev_hdd0/game/ to /dev_hdd0/ by ftp’ing to your PC deleting the current folder then back again.
[Rename the install directory back to its normal name]
8. Start game.. Enjoy


-if you try to start the game without installing the game data you might get an out of space message and need to start the process again!
this is because i believe hdd0/ has a set limit space cap and hdd0/game does not


Ok.. i been told im very confusing ....
Rename the /hd1/game/BCUS98167 <--install data to BCUS98167-
Go back into the game and it will assume you only have game save files it will ask for an update
Download that update using your pc and package it demo-installer
Then put the folder demo-installer produces in /dev_hdd0/vsh/task/
Restart in non-jb mode
Install the update
Restart in jb-mode ... ftp in to
./hd1/game/
You will see
BCUS98167
BCUS98167-
So you have install data and update data
Move the update data to your pc
Delete the update data from that directory
rename the folder BCUS98167- to BCUS98167
Then copy from folder on pc to /hd1/
So then..if you done it right you will have phun!

method to get around restart;
<iLLNESS> it has to do with the way the ps3 can sees stuff
<iLLNESS> you could possibly get away with this though
<iLLNESS> rename the install data again
<iLLNESS> move the update back to hdd0/game
<iLLNESS> reboot ps3
<iLLNESS> then again move update data and rename install data without rebooting
<iLLNESS> then launch game
<iLLNESS> should technically be the same as before

Things to think about;
--try keeping updates were they should be and putting installs else were
--game were updating so yes 2 locations were being read well 3 if you include the jb
--ps3 must flash read *.* for menu purposes and to refresh links [make that file read only]
--possible exploit found for future elf/bin running!
--use update sfo in install dir folder
--using new bm change the location of the game to hd/

So new install sequence
1. Boot resi with no files on ps3 [no save/gd]
2. Ftp in and rename the install dir
3. Install package update in non-jb mode
4. Move package dir to hd/root
5. Rename install back to org folder name
6. It boots and shows move menu but move doesn’t work

It is possible that I over-written some a file

On the Demo Disc that comes with move neither Eye Pet, Tiger Woods or Time Crisis will properly work with Move in JB mode. Im starting to wonder if the issue is with how some games work with camera and what the payload does to GameOS.

By not working I mean the load up (besides Eye Pet) and you can navigate around using the Move controller buttons, but the motions and the tracking dont seem to.

Hey there since you seem to have the knowledge about this kind of stuff, can you figure out how to fix EyePet and racquet Sports since those two games are both move games

Yeah but you seem to be on the right track as far as updates. Hopefully someone figures it out. Whoever does it will be a hero in the jailbreak world Too many really good games are having issues, once its figured out how to make them work, damn, you will see things really explode

Well i was trying stuff since jb was released!

I think that blur & tekken could be updated successfully

• Don’t try move [something else needs doing as i got resi5 to work but no controller support] games try your games!!!
