Updated to 4.0 ofw, want to jailbreak –

I updated to 4.0 ofw accidentally not knowing it would cause me problems when i went to jailbreak, and downgrading seems like a costly and drawn out process I would not like to do (but will if it comes to that). My question is: is there any way to jailbreak while running 4.0 ofw, install cfw while still on 4.0, or is downgrading my only path to take? If so, what is the easiest way to downgrade CECHG NAND flash models? and which is the most cost effective?
Thanks

Nope, downgrading is your only option.
If you do decide to go that path I would recommend Progskeet.

Not to be mean or anything... But how do you ACCIDENTALLY upgrade to 4.0... without knowing it? I mean... That isn't really possible. First it asks if you want to upgrade... then it asks again... THEN it has you sign a licensing agreement... Then you have plenty of time to cancel while it's downloading..
...so how did this happen?

Leave the man alone, i dont think it was a accident that he did it but realizing what he found out after he did , that was the accident.
Anyway man, I would suggest just doing what im doing and wait for a new upgrade for the 4.0 to be released, if you want to downgrade you will have to soter "that spelled right?" and i have no idea how to do that but if you feel comfortable go for it and research it man.

Thanks for explaining how it was accidental. Really i updated thinking i can apply the jailbreak after i updated but found out i was wrong (i come from jailbreaking ipods which is way less complicated). How often does sony update? Reason is is my disk drive is broken so i dont have any games without a jailbreak.

So have fun.
Way to troll. Anyways, i inherited this ps3 from a friend when it got ylod. I succesfully repaired it, costing me a total of 10 dollars (as opposed to 150 to send it to sony) and he had already opened it voiding the warenty. Plus, i can do all of my own repairs, i dont need a warrenty.
As for jailbreaking 4.0, people have already done it i guess, as i saw on youtube.
