I want to better my life and update to OFW 3.70 (i have a flashed 360 to try games)
I've heard sony did some console ban's based on the last started apps e.g. backupmanager. I remember my ps3 was connected to the internet when launching this old backup manager some time ago. How can i check if my console is banned? Wouldn't do me any good if i update to 3.70 and can't get online...

You will have to risk it and go online using your PS3 and connect to the PSN. If you are able to login you are good to go, if not a downgrade is always possible. Also bare in mind that before updating to 3.70 Official switch back to Official firmware 3.55 and clear all your data, and homebrew on your system. After doing so do a complete wipe of your HDD and then and only then update to 3.70 Official firmware and log in to PSN.

    tnx! it worked.
For others who want to know:
-copied my savegames (just the ones i really needed to keep, you can't just select all...)
    -cleaned all 'custom' games
    -removed all homebrew
    -installed,ran and deleted history cleaner
-reinstall 3.55 OFW from recovery mode
    -from 3.55 OFW reformat harddisk
    -hit update
    now at 3.70 OFW

Maybe i'll come back when the 3.70 keys are retreived. untill then i have enough original games to keep me bussy. I've used it mainly to play games from hdd (faster!)
