Unknown attempt at downgrade, machine dead

Im confused... I can get into the standard PS3 recovery menu by holding down a second time and getting the double beep. I then connect a controller by USB.

Each option in that menu errors out on me. Rebuild the system files, restore the PS3, etc. Some will turn the unit off, others say cannot connect to hard drive, and updates fail immediately after checking the file.

Is there another recovery menu?

From your First post, what I can tell is that it has a corrupted firmware. Just re-downgrade it with the 3.41 PUP and ur fine!

he has no dongle as it was downgraded (failed) then the PS3 was given to him that way

I have one of those on the way, X3max has announced a 3.5X jailbreak but allot of people are skeptical, for what you want to do E3 Card Reader should be fine

Solid advice (I have an E3 on the way), however the best option if you a) get this machine working and b) enjoy playing around with an exploited PS3, is an Atmel developer board (I paid 20 bucks on ebay for a little barebones USB dongle with an AT90USB162 chip, and it's never let me down)

I still don't use a dev board, he has this machine dump on him my guess is he'll want to get it running as fast as he can then he can experiment

If you've an old iPod then check out PSGrade for Rockbox, install RockBox and then drop in PSGrades rockbox.ipod file. Restart iPod and enter service mode on PS3.

I agree with downgrading and then updating, should fix the problem, this way it could be quicker to get the device and it won't cost a penney!

ordered psjb dongle off holidaycarts on the 2/12 still got nothing off them . hong kong tracking states it left hong kong on the 6/12 for uk .. this was the 99$ one.

anyone else had long delays/no item off holidaycarts???

he has an iPod nano 4g if you read his posts above & on previous pages anyway it's not on the list as compatible
