Does anyone know how the true blue dongle works? Does it require any changes to FW on the console? i.e. I plug it out I'm back to stock FW. Is it transferrable between consoles? Any restrictions? Fat vs Slim? Thanks

It does require you install their 3.55 true blue CFW and it is transferable between consoles but it will only work when it's plugged in at start up (I don't know if after start up you can unplug it and start up the other ps3 or not). It will work on both Fat and Slim consoles the only restriction is that the ps3 must be on 3.55 or lower, if it's above firmware 3.55 then you must downgrade.

Thanks so doesn't solve the problem if you get a new console running 3.72 OFW you still need to find a way to downgrade.

nope it crashes the PS3 to a flashing red, also as far as I know there is no way to patch their FW to accept 3.56+ downgrades (lv1 no check)

If you unplug it after start up it will "panic" and freeze the ps3 or other non preferable behavior. Plugged in at start up meaning before you turn the ps3 on. It also works on Rebug 3.55.2 TB CFW

You need the lv1 patched or the dongle wont work if you downgrade, so far trueblue has not released an lv1 patched CFW.

    EDIT:

So does it mean if the dongle breaks down the PS3 is screwed?
