About LinkBacksCorrect. If you don't want to replace the entire drive, you can just buy an used logic board on ebay (model needs to be the same as the one that came with the PS3) and remarry it (the console needs to be able to downgrade to 3.15 (maybe 3.21 but not sure)), this includes all FATS, and CECH-20xx slims. Not sure about CECH-21xx (lowest firmware being 3.21 for those). You can't remarry on CECH-25xx however.

10-16-2011,09:44 PMI only have one ps3. And it's a 60gb BC model. And I haven't really had any issues. The issues I have came across were mainly my fault when they accured because I didnt install something right or I accidently pressed the wrong button or whatever. I can't imagine how anyone has had any issues...I see so many threads saying they bricked their system or they black screened or their lense died. I don't see how any of this happens to people. It makes no sense. And don't get me wrong I don't expect my system to last much longer...it overheats literally within seconds. The fan always sounds like its going to explode. I do use a can of air about 2 times a week. That doesn't seem to work. One of these days I'm going to not have a choice and I will have to open it up my self and see if I can get rid of whatever dust is inside which I am sure there is a lot.

12-18-2012,02:15 AMi have a 60 gb system that had never been online and upgraded it to a 1 tb drive and jailbroke it to 3.55 rebug and have never ever had a problem with after i upgraded the fan and the thremal paste i installed a 19 blade fan in it that runs off and a external power source ran a fan on the outside of the system from a tanning bed because i noticed that after i jailbroke it it seem to run a little harder than it had before i also have a extrnal hd that i can run on it as well
