Trophy issue –
06-09-2011,11:48 AM
Hey guys, a friend recently corrupted my ps3 on cfw 3.55 kmeaw (don't know how, he must have turned it off from the back or something) and it ended up coming up corrupt and i had to restore the system.
So i got it working again, and it works fine apart from on my main profile i have all of these trophies, and whenever i try and load a game it exits after giving me some generic trophy message. I can start a new profile and play them fine, anyway getting to the point...
is there any way through homebrew i can fix this? i'm sure it could be fixed if a new cfw came out and we could connect to psn, however, is there any other way around?
thanks guys.

Yeah, trophies, like save data, is connected to your psn account so by resotring the system, you lost your original xregistry.sys and the system created a new one. What you gotta do is, use either ftp or a file manager and edit the xregistry.sys in /dev_flash2/etc and locate the line with psn account and password. put your info there, save it to the system, and reboot. it should work now.
"/setting/user/<userid>/npaccount/accountid" will be your psn id
"/setting/user/<userid>/npaccount/loginid" will be your email address
"/setting/user/<userid>/npaccount/password" will be your password
people say you don't need to edit the part about your birthday, but those 3 should be all you need to change.

sorry, i've connected to the ps3, found the devflash registryx file, opened it, im just wondering whih user i am? i'm the first one on the console, however it only says "/setting/user/00000002/npaccount/accountid 9ó"
some weird character at the end, just wondering do i change the weird '9ó' after, or the actual 'accountid' part?
theres users 00000002, 000000003 all the way to 7. hmmmm.

whichever one's value is the user name you're trying to use is the one you change. if you're the first user, i'd say its the one ending in 2. but are you saying it has those different account numbers or accountid's

ok, sorry i managed to get past that. i opened the xregistry.sys file in a ps3 registry program, and managed to read through it fine. i changed the value for each one, as told above, saved them, then copied and pasted the file back over so it overwrote the other registry file.
i then rebooted my playstation, and when i went onto sign in, my e-mail and password were there which was a good sign. however the trophy thing is still happening in games. i didn't changed the birthday thing though...

Is the user name when you first boot the ps3 the same as before or is it different? Make sure it doesn't have an asterisk(*) by it

yeh it is mate, username is Naaiif, and was always Naaiif. No asterisk by it but there is on the other profiles, not sure if that makes a difference though. think i'm gonna try and edit the birthday date and stuff later.

Depending on your model, you might get one under 3.55. Just hope
