Tried to downgrade 3.55, now it just turns off! Help?!
Tried to downgrade 3.55, now it just turns off! Help?! –
As the header says, I just tried to downgrade from 3.55 using:
-AmazeBreak-dongle with service-flash
-USB with lv2-file and modded 3.41 pup
Inserted amaze, switched on, pwr+eject
PS3 turned on, and off.
Inserted USB with FILE1 and modded 3.41
Then, it just flashed green for about 20 minutes.
I turned it off, deleted usb and put over FILE2.
Turned on ps3, and it turned off again.
So far, so good...ish.
Except, it just turns off after a couple of seconds.
You are not going to be able to downgrade from 3.55 at this moment. There is a few experimental ways that work, but they don't work on all consoles, are high-risk, and aren't really out there for the public.
If you check the update log after you attempted to downgrade, you can open it with Wordpad, and the bottom few lines will indicate that it will fail. So the most you can do for now is to just exit service mode and use 3.55. If you're using your the 2nd self file, it should be getting you out of service mode. Just incase:
1.) Download the attachment I uploaded.
2.) Format your USB stick in the fat32 format.
3.) Copy the downloaded file, Lv2diag.self, to the root of your flash drive. (D:\Lv2diag.self, for example)
4.) Insert the usb stick with that file into the right most usb port of your ps3. (It MUST go in right most port, or it will not work)
5.) Turn on the ps3 normally. It should power on, wait a few seconds, than power off.
6.) Remove the usb stick, and boot the ps3 like normal.
You should be good to go on 3.55, you will have to wait until one of these custom firmwares works to be able to play backups or homebrew. I recall reading that one person on 3.55 was not able to get out of service mode for whatever reason, but I just attempted it on my 3.55 console, downgrade failed obviously, but I was able to exit service mode without a problem.
If I misunderstood your problem, please clarify and I will try to help.
Of course it wont work, old lv2diag, don't work with 3.55, you need new self from the post above.
It didnt work .. :-(
Still just turns itselfe off after a couple of seconds.
