transfer savegames to new hdd FTP client "home folder"
transfer savegames to new hdd FTP client "home folder" –
a question .... i want to upgrade my ps3 internal HDD but i dont want to loese my savegames so can i save the "home" folder of the ps3 (which i can see with filezilla and blackbox) to my pc and after swapping the ps3 deleting the one which is on my new hdd and replace it with my older one ?
You don't need the whole home folder just the savegame one inside it, then you need to go into recovery mode and rebuild file system/database otherwise the saves will not show up
[lang=de]thank youu [/lang]
so i have to use a usb drive right?
Why don't you just use the backup utility?
Usb pen drive using a file manager or ftp, I used usb.

On the New HDD Crate a USER NAME THE EXCATE SAME AS THE OLD ONE
Then REPLACE THE NEW HOME FOLDER WITH THE OLDER HOME FOLDER VIA FTP/USB
Once REPLACED RIGHT AWAY SHUT DOWN THE PS3 (DO NOT EXIT THE FTP/FILE MANGER On PS3)
once shut down restart into recovery mode....
Run REBUILD DataBase
wall-la your done..
YOU HAVE TO REBUILD THE DATABASE BEFORE USEING THE HOME FOLDER (AFTER YOU REPLACED IT) OR YOU WILL CRASH THE SYSTEM
