TI-84 Jailbreaking on Phat PS3 questions
TI-84 Jailbreaking on Phat PS3 questions –
01-12-2011,11:40 AM
I have a Phat PS3 with 3.41 firmware on it. I can jailbreak it without any issues. The issues I am having are with the different payloads and getting them to work properly.
For example :
I have Assassins Creed Brotherhood backed up using a TI-84 with the PSJB app from Brandon (Version .02) backup enabled(This seems to be the only version of the software that allows me to play backups..) I tried to use both updates to get this game to work and still does not. I have tried all tricks that I have been able to research to get this to work but still will not. This seems to be the only version of the software that allows me to play backups.
I can use the updated app with a payload selected but everytime i try to install package files or play a backup it does not allow me to do so. I get an error everytime. I tried all the payloads available in the fourm posting and get the same result everytime.
I am wondering if anyone else is having the same issues as I am. And what they are doing to get around this issue or how they resolved it.
Any help or suggestions would be a great help.

I am willing to help but can you say specifically what the error is?
I have a 20gb phat (same as 60gb) and I am using a ti-84.

Well its just the standard error im getting. The code is 8009001 and when i looked it up it said it was a bluetooth error. The only bluetooth item im using would be the standard controller that came with it. Not a dual shock 3.The game version is BLUS30537.
For some reason the only way it seems like my PS3 actually jailbreaks is using the PS3JB_R2 file from the fourms here has allowed me to play backups or install pkg's.
I have had the calculator show it was successful using the updated software but it has not allowed the managers or homebrew to run.

My first thought would be to verify you have the right version of 3.41 (there are more than one). It should be md5 e07d2b84c9e9691c261b73e5f1aada20 like from ps3os_v3_41_second_release_PS3UPDAT.zip
But you say it works part of the time with the old version of code? Did you remember to add the payloads into the calculator because the newest version of the software doesnt include payloads. Did you go into options and choose the right payload from the "first payload" option?
When you use the other versions does the "install packages" link show up on the xmb?

first get the newest psjb from brandon...its .09 not .2...then get your payloads...i mostly use hermes payloads but the pl3's are also great payloads...you install the payloads the same as you installed psjb...now open up psjb on you ti-84 and hit 5 (options)...stage 1 payload should be either hermes or pl3 (those wont be the names of the payloads as seen on the calculator)...hit save button
note: for hermes make sure in options that "use device 6" is YES
brandons blog: PS3JB - PS3 Jailbreak for TI-84 Plus/Silver Edition
payloads: http://psx-scene.com/forums/f178/ti-...lection-68786/ (TI-84 Payload Collection)
by the way, if under games if you dont see install packages and you are running 3.41, you are NOT in JB mode...i dont care if your process was flawless, try again...it didnt initialize the JB...you should really update you psjb though...only mess with what i said as you dont need to worry about the rejig or anything else in options

I have the new software and all available payloads as per the fourm here at PSX scene. I have been able to succefully run the JB using the new software (Was able to see install packages in XMB, just wouldnt allow me to install).
I know i have set the options correctly in PS3JB as i have read the readme many times and made sure to follow the instructions exactly.
I have the correct version of 3.41 installed as the link you provided is the link I used to install 3.41
Its got me boggled because im pretty suavy with this kind of thing and I cannot get Assassins Creed Brotherhood to run no matter what I try.
I have even formatted, upgraded to 3.5 downgraded successfully to 3.41 correct version and still no luck.

What are you trying to install exactly? And I believe Assassins Creed Brotherhood needs a debug update installed first to be able to play it since it has 3.50 encryption keys in the original eboot.bin.

if your trying to play a game you need a backup manager - i use rogero manager...find your manager of choice and put it on a usb stick and have your ps3 in jb mode (i.e. be able to see install pkg files)...now plug the usb stick in the ps3 and go to install packages...you should see your install package there for whatever manager you chose...after it installs go to it and open it up and you should see Assassins Creed Brotherhood there (i have never played it so i dont know what you do after this to get it going)...the previous poster said its a 3.5 game so if thats the case you need to find an eboot on here for it and perhaps change the sfo file to say 3.41 (rogero manager will do that for you if you use it)
now just choose assassins creed from the gui in your backup manager...it should then go to the xmb of the ps3...go to the folder above "install pkg" on the xmb and wait for the game to load...once the background changes then hit "x" to start the game
NOTE: this may be a game you need to use a retail game disc in the disc drive to run (im not sure bc i dont play it and prolly never will)...if you find a thread on this game then it should help you out a lot

Ok some clarification on the situation:
I have tried to install both updates for Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. Update 01 and 02 debug. I can install the debug update but not the retail update. Neither will allow me to play the game.
I get error 8009001 whenever I try to start the game after installing the update. Without the error i get a message saying 3.5 is needed to play.
I have backup managers installed. I currently use Multiman, Open Manager, Gaia. I have tried them all and none will allow AC brotherhood to run.
I do know how to jailbreak and play backups. I have done this successfully. I currently am playing backup versions of Fallout New Vegas and COD black ops. These games work without any issues at all.

I have also gone through all the fourms I could find for AC brotherhood and none of them helped at all. I still get the 8009001 or 3.5 required messages.
