There are few good homebrews

After watching the scene quite long it seemed to me that it only concentrates on backups and better cfws for backups. Indeed you have the possibility to use homebrews too but there are few of them. Even linux which was the reason for hacking the ps3 still isn't back. So I am asking myself why there are so few emus and homebrews like n64-emu, mediaplayers and homebrew-games like for example a physic-simulation like Phun. There would be tons of possibilities of ports.
Just look at the wii/psp scene at its prime time.
I don't have anything against backupmanagers(using them myself) but I think the ps3 has got more potential since its widely open for developer now.
I'm sorry If I sound like one of these ungrateful kiddos complainig about everything.
So what do you think?

I can only respond in the same way i've responded to everyone i've seen on this topic..
FFS... WAIT!!
Yes the Wii is very advanced in it's hombrew.. but the wii has been open for a long time.
I'm still perplexed why everyone says oh why isn't this ported why isn't that ported... It's ported to this and that..
Well go and get one of those consoles and hush up.. or wait.
I can only guess things have slowed down for one or a mixture of the following
1) no one knows exactly what Sony are going to do next
2) the guys who opened things up for us in the first place have been slapped with TRO
3) PS3 as a platform is not as easy to work with as other architectures.
Or a million and one other reasons you, I and dildo baggins next door have no understanding of.
I'm sure the time will come when you can play mario kart on your 50" plasma via the PS3... but until then.. go play it on the Wii, Xbox, PC, or heaven forbid.. an N64.
edit : sorry for the rant.. just pisses me off.. people expecting something for nothing when they already have everything.

Software development takes time as it is. The people that are developing homebrew are doing so in their free time. They can't pay their rent with scene cred, so they will continue to work full time jobs.
As more developers become interested in the scene and find free time for side projects, they will begin development on some cool stuff.

First of all thx for reply.
I doubt that somebody should be scared to be sued for programming ps3 homebrew(mainly if they are anonymous devs with only nicks).
But I understand completely that the ps3 is a difficult platform to work on and I think this is one reason that the ps3 isn't attractiv enouth for developers.
Maybe linux could make ps3 homebrew-developing much easier and it would bring a lot of features with it so the the scene would grow much further.
Trying to win the cat and mouse game by developing cfws with psn acces ist a waste of time.We should forget about having psn and homebrew at the same time. In the end they will probably ban us anyway.Instead the scene should try to get linux first.
But yes, I dont have the right to complain about anything and I don't want to command any Devs what they should do in their freetime. I only had the desire to tell about my opinion.(even if you don't care
)
And I already have a wii, but its emulating capabilitys aren't very satisfying for me...
P.S.:Please don't think that I am pissed of or something like that and I didn't want to piss of somebody else.
