Sort of curious, I've seen a couple posts about people saying "why you're still using waninkoko's CFW is beyond me", etc.

Is there any advantage in going with a different CFW...?? I didnt get a initial brick from Waninkoko's.

Also, how easy is it to un-install waninkoko's and go with a different one, do I have to format to remove everything?

Beats me, i won't touch it with a 10 yard pole.

But if you're up to risking your PS3 i'm sure everything will work out fine.

Only use it if your model PS3 is compatible with it, If its not = BRICK.

Other than that, If you can install it without bricking you will find that its better than any other CFW out there. Iv tested all of the CFW's that have been released for 3.55 & the only one that doesnt freeze, That will play every game & does all the good stuff with no problem is Waninikoko's. The rest are good & all but they just fail alot IMO, Dev's are still trying to make backup managers work on them correctly, Waninkoko's CFW will use almost any backup manager & rape.

Wanin's CFW = Win (as long as you dont brick lol)

Before the Fanboys roll in and thrash this thread:

Yes there is something very wrong with Waninkoko CFW. If you have the incorrect hardware version of the PS3 and you use Waninkoko CFW then there is a 100% chance of bricking your PS3.

Whether it is your fault or Waninkoko CFW, bricking your PS3 is ultimately your problem. So if you decide to keep on trucking, please search the forum and understand 100% of the risk of installing this CFW.

Other than that, people who are using Waninkoko say they are having the best CFW experience but that's their opinion.

I really should have been clearer.

My PS3 is one of the compatible versions, I've already installed it without issue when it was released. What I should have asked more clearly is, is there a possibility of it bricking once it's installed? Everything I've read seems to state that if it's not compatible, it'll brick on the initial install.

I was using waninkoko before.. Nothing wrong with it because it was compatible with my slim. but if it is not compatible it will brick your ps3. I am now running Kmeaw 3.55

Time will tell if it will brick while it is running. LV2 is advised to be untouched for a reason.

I`d sooner have a more incompatible firmware than one that seems to completely poke the rule book in the eye (Waninkoko) at this point.

Things are still very new, the scene (proper) is still only a few weeks old and just getting going.

I`d go to Kmeaw or Geohot until further down the line, but then I`m a chicken and don`t wanna buy another PS3.

Things will prob be fine initially but down the line, who knows?

Kamew 3.55 does not freeze. I have been using it and besides some fixpermissions problems which I solved with this file : Dashhacks :: PS3-Hacks :: Fix Permissions it works perfectly.

So in my opinion if you are on 3.55 grab kamew and use multiman, or another backup manager. Hasn't given me anymore trouble since I grabbed that fixpermissions.pkg. It is highly stable and I've been playing AC:brotherhood, Blazblue CS, Dragon ball raging blast 2, and a lot of other games without any problems what so ever.

I wouldn't touch waninkoko with a 10 foot pole. It causes bricks. Kamew doesn't. It may just be a bit unstable for some but at least it doesn't brick. So in my opinion no one should use waninkoko. I'd much rather have stability issues then a risk of a brick.

Also with this CFW I've had perfect compatibility so far. So I don't see where all the problems are. If you know how flash firmwares correctly and have a bit of common sense it will be stable.
