    you'll have to downgrade. Get your model number from the bottom of your PS3 and google this - PS3 (model number) base firmware

    If you see 3.55 or below then you can downgrade with a flasher. If it's 3.56 or above it's not worth doing or pointless

    I can't remember who but someone downgraded to jfw 3.56 because 3.56 was his base firmware and then he replaced the flash with 3.55 cfw and it actually worked, or so he claimed. It was here on psx-scene but it would be hard to find because its pages deep into a thread that isn't about getting 3.55 running on 3.56. Also jfw isn't the greatest cfw but it will run some backups and if your base is 3.56 and you don't want to try forcing a 3.55 flash on a base 3.56 then its a good option.

    Anyone willing to try overwriting 3.56 jfw with cfw 3.55 would need to use a downgrade version of 3.55, one with syscon hash checks removed
