Taking the plunge 3.41-3.55 to custom firmware(Some questions)

No this is not a topic on how to install one, as all of you would come in and say (read stickys or google) then leave.

Anyways, i have installed atleast 5 or 6 games, there still on my hard drive so im not to worried, but would it be reccomeneded if i do a quick format before installing a custom firmware?

If i didn't reformat and my games where in the gamez folder, id assume half of my games where ment for 3.41 and not 3.55 or would they work? I know some games need a pkg file to update the game for 3.55

I plan on not going online but just updating my trophies, is there a way to just do it from 3.41? has there been an ap to do this? or would i have to go to 3.55 use ****psn, log into the psn network then do it from there?

Ill be updating my 60/bc ps3 as im kinda hesitate on doing so, as both of my freinds consoles died becuase of 3.55(fluke?) and my slims on 3.60 (a duur on my part) I assume most of you guys are going to say risk it anyways so i assume i should do the usb method?

Thanks for any of the good replys if there was a rep + system i would use it for helpful hints and tips.

3.Yes you can use certificate mods and charles or i dunno lol but im pretty sure you can get on psn with 3.41
4.Use keamw 3.55 reaaaalllly low risk

1. 3.55 needs all original files in order to play your backups. If you had to modify any of the files of your backups to get them working on 3.41 (3.50+ games: GT5, NFSHP, CODBO, etc) then you will need to find the original files or re-backup the game.

2. Nope. Have to upgrade to 3.55 and use one of the methods to get online. PSN = trophies

3. Must have been a fluke.
