Swapping HDD on Rogero CFW 4.30 v.2.03
Swapping HDD on Rogero CFW 4.30 v.2.03 –
12-04-2012,03:40 PM
Ok so ive tried to get black ops to run on my cfw but ive heard that to make it work i would have to delete all game patches for 3.55 that has been used before, all homebrew and all bo2 regarded files on the ps3... but i was wondering if i could just use another hdd, format and reinstall rogero 4.30 v2.03 and just go online from there? normally i wouldnt ask about swapping hdd but i read this in changelog:"--- HDD can be swapped/changed and the CFW4.30 v2.03 will re-install without any problem." so i was wondering has anyone tried to just swap hdd and see if it install cfw 4.30? im afraid to lose the cfw since i got no flasher
Thanks

yea just stick in the new HDD. the firmware will format the HDD and the firmware will still be reinstalled.
but you just have to delete the game data and unpatch the game. you don't have to find all BO2 related files on the PS3 to get it to work.
just fix permissions using multiman and it will boot right up.

you have to format the other drive before trying to overwrite it with Rogero.
format your 3.55 drive to ntfs or fat32 using your computer then stick it in your ps3. it should then reinstall rogero onto the second hdd.

Yh im trying with no hdd swap for now xD, but the problem isnt booting up the game, its going multiplayer. people said i have to delete this and that, which just seems like too much work( but i noticed the MM stealth that came out just now so i installed that, deleted all and atm transfering the fresh copy from my disc to the internal)
btw whats this about format, doesnt it do that on its own anyways when u put in a new hdd =/? (when i did it on 3.55 it format then asked for update file)

You don't need to fromat the drive with your PC. The PS3 will do that for you.

PS3 should format it automatically. i just suggested formatting with pc first since his PS3 kept freezing at 99% of update.
I can't think of much else of why it would be getting stuck :\

Allright, can confirm for those who are abit unsure like i was that using another hdd(new or used, the one i put in was used) will install rogero cfw 4.30 v2.03, also it has install pkg in the app menu so no problem in installing MM back on it.
