Staying on 3.41 or upgrade to CFW 3.55?

One thing that annoys me is if I power off my ps3 slim with my disc in it I have to power on the ps3 and remove the disc first and power off again to succeed the jailbreak with a dongle.

I am too lazy to remove the disc before powering off the ps3

I'm not intending to go online so i dont care about PSN acces.

I think I can answer my own question and that is 'Stay on 3.41 until a real CFW is released'

But I just wanted to hear your 2 cents

Well at least you wont have to take the disc out with CFW, you can get on psn but if it doesnt matter then i do not know what your waiting for lol
Compatability for games is pretty much perfect when ripping from original discs, at least for me it is

dont bother if the disk is already inside

just do the jailbreak even the disk is inserted.
its still work even theres a disk inside ya know.

When I did the jailbreak, i just hit Power+Eject and did the Eject button a few times (4 or 5 times just to be sure), if the disk is in there it just comes out and i push it back in….but it still worked….but there are advantages of both staying on 3.41 and jailbreaking and updating to CFW, but CFW wins over all


Jailbreak Advantages:
- No flashing firmware
- Linux coming to 3.41 first
- Isn't there more home-brew on 3.41???


CFW Advantages:
- newer games like GT5, Splatterhouse, and NFS work w/o modified EBOOT which would be needed for 3.41, the updates for these games will not work on 3.41 Jailbreak
- PSN (I know you're not looking for PSN ,but its still there)
- No jailbreak needed, power on and just do your thing!

I already have GT5, NFSP HP, Eternal Sonata working on 3.41 with modified eboots.

The main reason that stops me from upgrading to CFW 3.55 is that its still experimental.. Yes sure alot of things work but the fact is its still experimental. I cant afford to brick my console.

I will try to do the jailbreak with the disc already inside. Hope it works

One option is HermesCFW for 3.41. Just like JBing with dongle but without the need for power/eject. Everything previously installed will work and you could easily revert back to 3.41 OFW.

Does it have 3.50/3.55/3.56 spoof?

Game compatability is the same as OFW 3.41?

No spoofing so param.sfo - editing may be needed. I used the dongle (with 3.50 spoof) to re-install Dragon Age Origins ultimate edition.
Game installed fine but the DLCs needed the spoof.

Game compatibility is same as hermesv4

I have exactly the same question one week ago when I was playing GOW3 on JBed 3.41. Everytime, I need to push the disc back after power on PS3.
So I decided to go with Kmeaw+multiman and I am glad I did that.
Now I just leave a disc in PS3 all the time. I can power on it by remote controller, and then play my games just like before. All my games work.
As far as I know, there is no report of brick from Kmeaw from thousands of users, it should be safe.

CFW for 3.55 hasn't been experimental for a LONG time.
