space on internal hdd running low?
space on internal hdd running low? –
MY 250GB HDD SAYS ITS FULL WHEN ITS REALLY NOT. I HAVE READ B4 ON OTHER POSTS OF PPL HAVING THE SAME ISSUES. WAS THERE A FIX? I DELETED A BUNCH OF STUFF THAT I DONT USE ANY MORE AND I GOT BACK 17 GIGS BUT IT STILL SEEMS LIKE THERE IS ALOT OF SPACE AVAIL. I CHECKED THE PROPERTIES ON ALL THE GAMES AND IT CAME AROUND 150 GB'S, WHERE IS THE REST OF MY SPACE??
ANY WAY TO GET THIS FIXED WITH OUT HAVING TO REFORMAT THE HDD. I DONT WANT TO REFORMAT IF I DONT HAVE TO BUT IF I DO HOW CAN I BACK UP MY PSN GAMES FROM THE XMB? ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT.
That is common with external drives and occasionally happens on internal drive. It becomes off by as little as a couple gigs to, sometimes, over 100gb+ I had this issue once and it was off ~23 gigs on a 80 GB internal HDD. All I did was make a back up and didn't restore it since I was selling maybe PS3 anyways and the back up files showed the true disk space taken up. So if you really think your PS3 is off by some gigs then you should other use rebug cfw to "Add fake free space" to a reasonable amount, don't do it too much. OR you can Back up and restore.(This does not back up and restore the activations for DLC)
NOTE that hard disks are always less then their advertised value. For example a 250 GB hard drive would actually contain only ~230ish GB. Plus the PS3 takes up a couple gigs of space for things that can't really be seen. So I think your drive free space is reasonable
AND CAPS LOCK, REALLY!??
Have the same issue since couple of days. My hdd0 is giving 0.0GB in multiman. My PS3 is giving warning my harddisk is below 500MB. I started removing tons of movies like 150gb of movies but it keeps at 0.0GB. I checked the actual size of all the folders and it seems I've lost huge GBs. Don't know what is happening but I'm unable to free disk space.
I have a 320GB HDD but when checking via FTP my hdd0 folder only contains 29GB. The other folders are a couple of GB. So where re my other 2XX GB ?
You don't have fake size limit (or whatever it's called) set to 0, do you?

It's a setting in the debug menu with rebug or QA flag. It lets you fake the remaining space left to any amount you want.
