the PS3 has been open wide and sign keys has been leaked,I KNOW that Sony are not supposed to be able to patch it... but now I'm kinda Worry,Sony are VERY aggressive when it comes to fight us(the hackers and the people who hack their PS3) what trick they can have up to their sleeves against us?

Suing everyone, takedown notices, and then giving up and releasing the PS4 probably before it is finished.

They have got to be kicking g themselves in the rear. This could have all been avoided if THEY had used random numbers with the cryptograms. It maybe be possible with a total hardware overhaul but it would cost to much for them to do so but even then I think it would cause problems with the already installed user base.

    THIS.

Sony happily sued German PS Jailbreak customers, thanks to favorable laws there.

I would consider avoiding PSN with any modified firmware, too. Might work, but then your ISP might get a summons to reveal your address, and you might get a summons to court.

Beyond that, anything is certainly possible, but the holes can't really be closed without a lot of work - it involves changing keys and using white lists to allow older games to still run; this isn't terribly practical, because the white list, at this point, would be HUGE. The whitelist and re-writing code to fix the lapses in security practices will also take time, and likely introduce a whole new batch of exploits. Economically, this would be a nuclear option, because of the expense vs. what they could possibly recover. I only see them doing this if they are just stupid and blindly retaliating.

Realistically, even the most rampant piracy won't kill the system, but I expect the level on the PS3 to bump from 3~5% now to 7~9% of the users; and most of them will still probably own more actual original games than the average non-pirating user.

One can look at the Dreamcast, but SEGA's fate was written before piracy became trivial for anybody with a CD burner. In some ways, it was "Xbox 0.5" since a lot of the Dreamcast stuff carried over into Microsoft's console. SEGA had struggled just to sell any bit of hardware for more than a year or two to any effect, and never achieved the success it had with the Genesis (and Nintendo STILL crushed them on that count).

A bigger question might be: What are HK vendors going to do to monetize these discoveries? All those jailbreak devices just became only useful as Service Jigs now (still useful, but to a far more limited group of users).

X3Max might have had the keys - but how were they going to make money? At this point, the only thing I can see is selling USB flash driuves with modified firmware on them. OF course, anybody could download the modified firmwares when they become available, but there are still plenty of gullible users out there that won't understand that, or think it's too hard to do it for themselves.
Working hard on UberCFW, incorporating NTFS, sub-free NetFlix and Blockbuster, PSN cheat system with built-in swearbot and MAC-spoofing, Adding MKV, RAM and BIK movie support, and Xbox360 emu*.

*not really. Get a life, newbs...

This what they did and continue doing so

    1.Collecting the pirate's IP's
    2.Notices to go to court
3.Shutting down sites that host Infringing Materials...
    4.Threats,...

But what they should do to protect themselves and let everyone be happy and still make load of cash

1.Charge PSN Users to be able to use it
2.Let the hackers be and not releasing patches that will be useless anyways.
    (Giving them what they want)
3.Releasing some open source PS3 stuff
4.Releasing more and more PSN content
    5.Ban only cheaters online !
6.Admit that they failed in someway but that they win in another plan
7.Hire some underground scene devs, hackers, etc... (if they didn't do it already )

But who knows they will maybe produce one last PS3 with different hardware before proceding to PS4
"10 years after the Playstation XXX AKA.Dr.Shlong, and the release of over 9000 best selling games including Gran Tiramisu and Fetal Fantasy VII, Sony began to look to the future. They saw a Playstation 2, which was unrivalled in it's sucsess."

They should look at it this way. Most likely sales will increase for the system and that is found money. They might lose money on the games, but most of the people who pirate, will be purchasing accessories, which again will be found money. I don't have solid info on this, but if I had to guess, probably only about 10% of PS3 owners are Jailbreaking their systems, which isn't a very high number and shouldn't affect $ony.

Though I don't want to give them ideas, but I think their next move would be to force buyers of the games to register the game online in order to make the game work 100%.. perhaps a ploy like having to download the second half or last quarter of the game in order for it to be playable in our consoles.

I think Sony wouldn't have a problem with homebrew if it was only that and not piracy for the games. Sony already sold us the console, we can't hack that or make our own (as far as I know), so they already made their money there. But now the companies that make the games are the ones getting screwed whenever a game gets ripped and shared, so Sony tries to fix that so these companies continue making games for the console--sort of a security role that Sony has to do in order to keep the game developers happy and alive. So I think that will be their next move. But that's just a thought.
