and Xbox 360 has very little exclusives coming out. two non kinect games for entire year. I dont think it's because of piracy, but you get the point. you are wrong.

Here is what I have noticed.... Sony is not tricking you...like you think.
The official word of the PS4 came in the same month that the USB dongle hack was released. They want to move the hardware out as fast as possible and what better way than to start the whole Homebrew scene, like on Wii, and have people rush out and buy all the PS3's off the shelf because you can now hack it. So Sony dropped the dongle them selves and now need to look like they care when they have only seen sales of PS3's rise. Look at the new keys from KaKaRoToKS for 3.56 released hours after the OFW update.

For your information Sony makes much more (really much more) profit on games than on consoles. Not only because Sony also makes games but because developers have to buy licenses to make games for PS3 and Sony also gets a % of each game sold on the market.

Sony's goal is to get as many consoles in consumers' households as possible, not having everyone buying two or three consoles by bricking them.

Banning people from PSN is also not a solution because that would mean that those banned would stop supporting the console completely. With PSN access they may still buy games and PSN content.

As for the new update not doing much, that's because the PS3 is really beyond fixing at this point. Maybe a new hardware revision is in their plans...
