Is Sony tricking us?

I keep getting this feeling that Sony is tricking us.

First, Sony definatly learned from experience, the moment the PS2 got cracked, the sales of PS2 went way up. Sure, less games get sold, but Sony doesn't make profit from the games, but from selling the PS3.

Secondly, The bricking.
Alot of people had their PS3 bricked becouse of a fail in a CFW. people are pissed off, but they still buy a new PS3. Can anyone say profit?
if Sony really wanted us down, they'd preform a massive banrage on the CFW users, right?

Third of all, The update.
3,56 eh? A minor security patch?
it took them quite a long time to develope a patch that got cracked roughly 4 hours after its release...That's kind of weird, isn't it?
Also, i recall reading that people bricked their PS3 by updating from CFW's ( not everyone though)
In other words, more sales.


So, is Sony tricking us, or are they just failing horribly on every aspect?
I dont know, but i'm not going to update or do anything before it's 99% safe again.

It would be a conspiracy if Sony planned all this shit from before, geohot leaking the key, bricking the ps3s, everything. Right now, Sony is just making the best of it.

Sure Sony makes(produces) alot of games, but the xbox360 got ****ed a while ago, and i still see games being released all the time for it.
What's so importand about exclusives anyway? A game is a game, who cares if the 360 and PC have it aswell?

Yeah sure they go to court just to prevent that geohot's cover got blown away?
Geohot owns nobody anything, if he wants to work for sony, he could do so.... he hasnt ask us for permission.

And about NPDRM - check graf's work, he made a payload to decrypt anything NPDRM signed. If he can decrypt it, im pretty sure he knows how to sign it too...

I think companies learn alot from opening there hardware to hackers, and they must be watching you lot to see how this is going. I have not updated to cfw yet until everything is done, and something comes along that would make up update.

Sony knows alot of you jump in without thinking, and this causes alot of the problems you lot have.

For your information Sony makes much more (really much more) profit on games than on consoles. Not only because Sony also makes games but because developers have to buy licenses to make games for PS3 and Sony also gets a % of each game sold on the market.

Sony's goal is to get as many consoles in consumers' households as possible, not having everyone buying two or three consoles by bricking them.

Banning people from PSN is also not a solution because that would mean that those banned would stop supporting the console completely. With PSN access they may still buy games and PSN content.

As for the new update not doing much, that's because the PS3 is really beyond fixing at this point. Maybe a new hardware revision is in their plans...
