sony support don't want to give me my password back so people you are my last chance help please

i don't now my psn pass but my ps3 remember it ...and the password is behind star like that ***********


sony don't want to help me with that .

i call couple of time .

i don't know what is the answer that i write in the security question

all my info in my very old and only the only one account i just write ...for fun ...

the one thing that i write and its true is my e-mail address

i thing about something...if i make the dev_blind make it mount the flash

and then Connect via FTP to PS3

maybe i can find my password there? any chance ? what do you say ? because the ps3 remember it

If the ps3 remembers it log in and see if you can change your password or change the security questions. Sometimes you can do this without having to reprovide the password info if it is saved. I can check for sure as i am not with my ps3. If you can change ur security question then you can call sony and have them change ur password. Other than that I dont think your psn password would be stored anywhere on the ps3 in plaintext, it is prob encrypted and would be hard to crack.

You ll need to check the file xregsitry (located in /dev_flash2/etc/ (backup of the file is located at /dev_flash2/etc/backup)

After you copy and open the file you ll check for setting/user/<userid>/npaccount/password

And you have it. May be ( didn t check this file since long time)

There are also the parental password and fews others infos you should keep close to you and of course not disclose to others.

Thanks you for the feedback and in fact you did well because i didn t really explain so well and you already knew where the file can be. I think there are also this password on PSP if you registered it with your ps3 (there are may be the need to have use remote control from internet/psn online and not only from private network) so ....paid attention about your psp also if you have one.

Also the file xregsitry format might have been changed after 3.55 FW with more security and not plain text.
