I would have agreed with you before man, I gotta tell you after the Jailbreak news came about I did something I hadnt done for 2 years, I actually bought a new pad for my PS3 and started buying games again, dont get me wrong, I knew that playing online was gonna go out the window with a Jailbroken system but I accepted that as one of the prices to pay if I chose to run homebrew on my console.
Thing is man as a consumer I have put up with a lot of shit from Sony, an inferior console, compulsory installs on games that dont require it on the 360, a pad with no rumble due to Sonys need to save a few more bucks on each unit shipped. The homebrew gave it a lot more life in my eyes and in the eyes of many people, I actually went out and bought Dead Space 2 when it came out just cos I had use for my PS3 now.
Now all of a sudden they begin treating the people that gave me a new found love for my console like criminals? I am sorry man it just leaves a bad taste in the mouth and its not something I am willing to support.
I know it may be seen as counter productive but I would see my reasoning as no different than other peoples who boycott companies and products for ethical reasons.

Very well said, sony is all about money, yeah so is MS, but you dont see them unsupporting 3rd party hardware like sony did?
and shit, most titles run better on the 360 than ps3, ps3 is clearly more powerful, but look at the sales, power means nothing.

At this point - good. Then other companies could see the results of abusing your customers.

Never going to happen of course, I have no illusions that the massed geeks of the world will have any impact whatsoever, but there's a better reason than that - not giving them your money to keep up their RIAA/MPAA and now PS3 legal shenanigans.

If this means no new consoles for me in the future... so be it.

I have earlier bought 2 PS2´s and about 30 games. Now I have bought 3 PS3´s and about 15-20 games. I dunno how much I have spent but I will NEVER EVER buy anything from Sony again so I guess it would have been a large amount in the coming years.

I was about to buy a Sony LED TV but when all this happened I bought a LG instead. Yeah suck on that Sony!

Truthfully. I will buy a NGP, I will buy a PS4. However like it's predecessors, neither one will be bought until homebrew is enabled. It's that simple. I bought the ps3 purely for the fact that homebrew had been enabled, had it not... I would have went and bought another Xbox 360. I'm sickened by Sony's Legal Actions as of late as well as their TOS. But, as it stands, they know how to make good products. I've always trusted the Sony brand to mean quality. Sure, I could just as easily be happy with a LG tv or Samsung, in fact my next tv purchase will either be a Vizio LED or Samsung Plasma.

Most of you won't boycott sony... That's the truth.

Oh and Phillips guy... lol. You bought a phillips because that's all you could afford. No one with any knowledge of tv technology would go buy a phillips over a sony. Atleast buy a brand that's as good as sony -__-.
