some questions about running games on externel hdd

hey i have p3hub this one:

and i updated it to the latest version 1.7 i didnt use my ps3 for years and i forgot anything about running games on externel hdd my ps3 ver is 3.41.

1.how do i put games on externel hdd?i know i need to create some folder but i forgot what name it must be.
2.if some game dat doesnt work how do i know if i need to replace the eboot?
3.If some game asks for an update should i update it?
4.I remember there was some website that tells what games work on internal and externel hdd can someone gimi the site?
5.lets say there's a game that requires a ps3 ver 3.50 what i need to do in that situation?

what you mean by "first jail break"? you mean update to 3.55 and flash to cfm?
