I bought a psbreak 1.0 when it got released before buying a ps3 but when i found out that it was impossible to upgrade it , i sold it and stopped checking the ps3 jb news.So i want to buy a ps3 now and will do it in a week or 2.Is it possible to have backup support via external or internal hd without using a dongle?I want to know this so i can select between a 120gb or 320gb.I have a 320gb external hd.Does no-dongle mode support all games or around %60-70 like it was when ps3 jb first released?Does games work without a game disc in drive?Since im going to buy mostly second hand games i dont really want to use thoose dics with my ps3.I dont care about move right now nor 3D movies.

Also is it possible to log in to psn to buy xbla type games?Or are there back up version of thoose games?Homebrew games and emulators would be nice but its not that important for me to play snes etc games on ps3.

Also which version ps3 should i buy?3.41 was the one that dngles were used on.Should i buy 3.41 and then upgrade it to a cfw or something like that?

Some properly written info would be awesome to have on this matter.

Anything you buy right now (as long as it's new) will work. Just avoid anything with 3.56+. Dongles are no longer required. And don't even bother with PSN. Sooner or later, it won't work anymore. Thank you.
This'll all be worth it once someone ports Emacs to GameOS.

So far PSN is a mixed results, some say they can bypass via proxxy and buy and install stuff, some say they cant.

Most games will require a game in the drive, just buy a cheap one for less than $5 bucks.

I bought 2 160GB slims this past 2 weeks, one came with 2.40 and one with 2.42
both where updated to OFW 3.55 then straight to Kmeaw CFW 3.55, games run great from internal and externals.

Some games give out a black screen, but those are very few and MM can run them from external via Select+x while in MM.
And game support i would say about 98 to 99%

Don't buy anything with a new game bundle. Probably the new KillZone 3 SKU will have 3.56 on it. Personally, go buy it at Best Buy because they have the best return policy. I had a Xbox and five days before the 90 return day expired the new Xbox Slim came out. I returned and got the new one. Don't buy refurbished PS3 because you can't return it (i think).

Stay away from anything that says 3.56 or higher! Return it Immediately!

Go buy a console now and you will get a <3.56 firmware. Upgrade to 3.55 official, install 3.55 custom of choice and you are ready.

For better compatibility get a cheap blu-ray game and leave the game in the blu-ray drive.
