Sorry, this may be a dumb question and I know it's been answered before, but I cannot seem to find it anywhere.
Basically, I know that in order to play a backup with files that are 4GB or more, I need to play it off of my PS3's internal harddrive. However, in order to get it on my PS3's drive, I need to get it on an external FAT32 drive first (Since NTFC can't be read by the PS3.)
So if FAT32 can only handle 4 GB or less, how do I get the files onto the external harddrive?

All those topics seem to be about actually playing games off of eternal hard drives...the one that doesn't simply says to use OMT without any instructions. But I'll go search for the OMT guide, thanks.
You can use split4g or opensplit to store a game on your external. It won't be playable though.
Reduce the memory size of the game, maybe this can help you.

why dont you ftp it to the system

Internal ftp speed is about 25mbps
you can use opensplit on the folder to split large file to smaller ones (needs java installed)
then plug the external with it, and using a manager that handles this job, copy it from usb to internal
i havent done the latest tough since i ftp the stuff, much easier.
