    Maybe some of it, as Sony wouldnt have written that! So it cant belong to them either.
    Yeah not the whole code but the main part of the code would be theirs. As it unlocks features which they put in the console. PSjailbreak team didnt come up with * install packages * ps3_game/APPS

    PSgroove is in no way a pirate copy of PSjailbreak. It's a reversed engineered open source version of it. So unless PSjailbreak owns patents for the method of exploit PSgroove is in the clear.

    It's like saying Firefox is pirating internet explorer. They both do the same thing but they are in no way the same thing/code.

    And after the last PSgroove update u could say that PSjailbreak is an outdated, mostly useless, version of PSgroove.

    Talking about it is OK in my opinion. There's nothing wrong with discussion.

    I don't see why they wouldn't own the patents to the exploit since they discovered it.

    Patents to the exploit? So you're telling me you would make a patent for an exploit you discovered with sony's code in the mix? You can't just patent everything you discover, especially when the thing you're trying to patent is stolen property. You're looking at heavy jail time and a fine that can ruin you.

    Yup +1, and not to mention these patents you are keen to talk of.. are not just given.. you have to apply, and no patent office would award this a patent.
    PS2 V7 = Exploit, 320GB Seagate HD.
    Wii = Softmodded+BootMii Boot2
    PS3 = Caught on fire..
    XBOX360 = Unmodded
    Nintendo DSI XL = Unmodded

    I know, but there isn't really another word to use for it other than "patent".

    Maybe a "we discovered the hack so it's ours" word....
