The shakedown on PSN

So I'm hearing from people here that there's no PSN whatsoever if you're not on 3.55, then hearing others say they "spoofed" their 3.41 to get on PSN, then I'm hearing people say just use X-Link Kai if you're jailbroken.

I'm on 3.50 OFW and I've been waiting on the downgrade situation to get ironed out before jailbreaking so I don't lose Blu Ray playback. However, I just got a key for the DC Universe beta, and I'm also already missing Home and Resistance 2 online. I'm thinking of just upgrading and forgetting about jailbreaking altogether, as PSN is pretty important to me, but searching these forums as well as Google are giving me all sorts of mixed up answers.

I don't care about tricking the console to think I'm on 3.50, GT5 doesn't mean shit to me, I just need my PSN. Should I just say **** it and upgrade then, and possibly buy another PS3 for jailbreaking, or is there/will there ever be a solution to getting online once/if the master key is obtained and we have CFW?

Eh, I guess I'll just bite the bullet and upgrade then. Having "access" to an "expanded library" for "much cheaper" isn't as enjoyable without PSN anyway. I'll stick with using my Wii and PSP for homebrew purposes.
