save games from original ps3 to external?

ive been playing games off the ps3 normally with the saves there. just jailbreaked and have an external hd working for me, do i need to transfer the saves from the internal to the external to use them when i run off the external? if so, how?

No. Keep them where they are. Saves can only be ran from the internal.

If you do want to copy for another reason, go the your GAME SAVE UTILITY, hightlight the game you wish to save, press TRIANGLE, then COPY, and select your destination. NOTE: Not all game saves can be copied.
