Is it safe to revert back to OFW 3.55 after using CFW?

Let's assume the ps3 has never been touched by an outside connection since flashing CFW (MAC blocked at the router). Would it be safe to revert back to OFW 3.55 and update to 3.56 and use the internet, psn, etc as normal? Or are there traces left behind?

If you want to leave no traces, then reinstall the OFW, and then pull the HDD out the PS3 and format it using a PC. Once it is formatted, put it back in the PS3 and then reinstall the 3.55 OFW. Once done, you can update to 3.56.
Be absolutely sure you are fine with never jail breaking your system again though before moving on to 3.56.

Its crazy how so many people are willing to give up CFW,Backups(piracy),Homebrew and Linux for something as crappy as PSN!
