Safe to install kmeaw on new PSSlim 320GB

i was wondering if kmeaw cfw is tested on a brand new ps3 slim 320gb
it came with 3.55 so i can just install 3.55 kmeaw immediatly ?
waiting for feedback before installing

and im still looking for newest version of mednafen (to confusing with the revisions and wip or whatever)

Kmeaw is still the safest cfw. From my knowledge, it hasn't bricked a console yet.

thanks i just never heard of standard 3.55 lol foudn that weird thats why i wanted to be sure

so IF it works to install 3.55 kmeaw without going into recovery mode thats safe to ?

It is safe as long as it isn't above 3.55 which your deck is not. You will have to go into recovery to install the CFW though, otherwise if you try from the XMB it will say update is not needed as you have the same or higher firmware. And yea kmeaw is safe I have have never seen a brick due to the firmware just user error like the power cord got un-plugged etc.

but from 3.41 dongle if you upgrade to 3.55 kmeaw all your backup games would be deleted correct?

No. But, you will need to replace modified files in you backups with original ones.

what i know is once you delete your Backup managers your backups would also be deleted

i might take the plunge now into jumping unto kmeaw cfw...

As soon as you load a newer backup manager (Rogero's for sure, not so sure about the others) it will ask you if you want to move your games folder to a safer location. Just answer yes.

i see wow then later i would be upgrading into cfw with all the files completed and md5 hashes check...

Make sure you do this 3.41 OFW>3.55 OFW>3.55 Kmeaw don't go from 3.41 OFW directly to 3.55 Kmeaw as it could result in errors. And the eboots only need to be replaced if they are games that are 3.50 or higher all older games will still work without having to do anything to them. If using Multiman and Kmeaw you will need to install a PKG called BDEMU.PKG as Kmeaw doesn't have lv2 patching like Waninkoko and Deank took out lv2 support in 1.16.0 of multiman to avoid legal troubles. So you must install that file only once or you must use Kmeaw's lv2 patcher upon every boot, that or go with a different CFW. That is why I used Waninkoko's CFW as it had lv2 patching already applied but then just made my own CFW using MFW builder to take out useless junk that Sony deemed needed like a PSN category in every XMB selection.
