Is It SAFE to format Internal HardDrive on CFW3.55 Kmeaw

I backed up a game now i cant delete it with any backup manager..so i am going for hard drive format to free some space. Now i wanna know is it safe to do internal hard drive format on 3.55 cfw kmeaw?

yep. it should be fine.

if it ask for reinstallation of firmware (16mb NOR PS3's) just supply the OFW or KMEAW CFW to reinstall it..

in some cases (256 NAND PS3's) there are some units that even if you reformatted the HDD, it wont ask for FW reinstallation. Since the builtin memory where FW is stored is big enough to handle the entire FW.

formating didnt work..i got stuck at 0%......dont know what to do now

Pull the hdd put it in your pc and try to format it. I have had to do it before. Also the bigger your hdd the longer it takes to format.

Oh I was wondering this too. If I format it via the ps3, it'll still have the CFW without worries, right?

i format mine mine with pc and put it back in ps3 again. it asked me for firmware i put the flash with cfw 3.55 kmeaw in usb port. it worked for me. But now i dont see the folder under games......i kinda liked it...all homebrew i installed showed up in that folder now they show up under games in xmb....i wounder how to get folder under games??

Try pressing square in the games tab.

So you're saying you backed up your stuff, reformatted, put everything back, and everything worked fine right?

I got problems running all of my backups after i did format my drive before that all of them were working..i dont know whaat i messed up.Maybe backups were not copied properly so im doing it again now. below are the games that were working before i formated my drive but now 4 games are not working and my ps3 reboots when i close non working games. they all stuck after manu black screen.

1-Marvel vs Capcom
2-Killzone2
3-Uncharted

>=Not working
1-Uncharted2
2-Tekken6
3-ArmyOfTwo 40thDay
4- MGS4 GOP (sometimes stuck at manu)

Anyone know what i messed up may its the firmware but before moving to flash my ps im going to copy my backups 1 more time
