RSOD fix –
07-01-2012,01:54 AM
ok my 3.55 jb has RSOD and i used the Lv2diag.self thing and the first time it worked and i got RSOD again about a week later and i did the Lc2diag.self thing again and it worked for about 2 minutes. i turned off my ps3 and i turned it back on and i had RSOD again. and it works sometimes and not sometimes, but it seems like whenever i restore my ps3 and rebuild the file system, and turn the switch on the back off for like 24 hours, it works for awhile then i get it again, i dont know if the flash area is completly damaged or ifs its a hardware problem. i have to use the CFW that bypasses the RSOD and i would like to use Rebug and go online, but i cant..

If the fix on the devwiki doesn't work, then it's most likely a hardware issue. That just fixes software problems.

i wonder if the NOR is bad, could he get it to boot to the xmb... and then dump the contents of the nor, then have the NOR swapped with another one ( i know someone who does this ) then the contents off the old NOR put on the new one... then install OFW through recovery , and maybe it will fix it?

That sounds to be the only real option of making the unit work properly. it sounds to me like a bad flash mem.

but its weird bc sometimes it works and other times it doesnt, and i hate it being a hardware problem bc theres so many things that can be causing it

Unfortunately this is true. It's most likely a faulty flash though.

Well honestly it's repairable bt at the price you would have to pay to get it replaced i'd rather buy another one.....
