RSOD? Can I fix it?
Hi guys, my PS3 just gave me the so called RSOD (A serious error has occurred).
It was running on Kmeaw's 3.55 CFW with version 4.11 spoofer. I was about to install version 4.20 spoofer and I first deactivated the 4.11 spoof and then uninstalled it. Then I mistakenly installed 4.11 spoofer back again (but didn't activated it yet). I uninstalled 4.11 spoofer from the XMB (triangle > Uninstall). Then I opened multiMAN and the PS3 showed me the red screen before it opened multiMAN.
This is my first serious problem. Can I fix it? Warranty is out of question because its almost 3 years since I bought it. My specs are:
> PS3 Slim 120GB
> CECH-2005A
> Kmeaw's 3.55 CFW
EDIT:
The PS3 won't boot now. Nothing comes up on my screen. I have tried video output reset and nothing. The controllers won't sync too. Blu-ray eject/insert works fine. Power button shuts down the PS3 almost immediately.

can you get into recovery mode with slims? if you can try that, then reinstall your CFW and if that doesnt work you can get a CFW that bypasses the RSOD and you wont have it with that CFW unless u change CFW's again. if that RSOD CFW works get the homebrew app that puts your ps3 in FSM and try the Lv2diag.self RSOD fix and see if that works, if it doesnt you have a hardware problem, but i doubt you do. What the Lv2diag.self thing does is rebuiled and restore the FLASH on your ps3 and What causes most RSOD is the part of The FLASH becoming corrupted, but ive never heard of a slim having FLASH problems.. but try that

Real quick, can you tell me how to enter Recovery mode?

i Dont know if you can on slims but if you can hold the power button till its powers off, take finger off, then hold it down again, then keep holding until it beeps twice really fast youll know

Don't use that CFW! It's old and have permabrick risk. Instead, use CrashSerious's RSOD fix lv2diag.self, located here - RSOD Fix - PS3 Development Wiki.
Once again, if you experiencing some troubles - read the damn wiki first!

lol good thing u said that! i wont being using that any more if my 3.55 gets RSOD, i used it for awhile and then did the Lv2diag.self fix and know im back using KMEAW:) but ive never heard of any one getting permabricked from it..

Thanks man. I entered Service mode, installed official 3.55 firmware and then jailbreaked it with kmeaw's 3.55 and it works like charm now, only all my data is lost. Thanks again.

No problem man! And i think what caused it was The rebug spoofer you were using, ive heard of so many people getting RSOD from it, And they just reinstall the firmware and they are all good, if your gonnna spoof use Kmeaw SEN enabler/disabler that what i use/used, until sony made the 4.21 update mandatory and it worked perfect and it enables dev_Flash files so it prevents the RSOD, i dont think anyone will ever get RSOD while using that!:)

gosh, they released 4.21 already? damn...I was out of town for a couple of weeks. I was just about to use the 4.20 spoofer to get online, didn't realize 4.21 was out. anyways, I hope a psn enabler comes out soon.
