RSOD 4.30 Rogero (Due to previous rsod failure not cfw)
RSOD 4.30 Rogero (Due to previous rsod failure not cfw) –

I had a rsod on my ps3 and was able to fix it a while ago with the 3.55 rsod repair pup. Every so often the rsod would return and I would need to re-install the pup and run the rsod repair etc no probs. Anyway I thought I would upgrade to 4.30 as it has been ok for ages - anyway as soon as I installed it the rsod returned :s my question is can anybody create a cfw for 4.30 that ignores the rsod as the 3.55 pup did or point me in the right direction? any help would be great.
Reading the wiki page I can see that the dev_flash' basic_plugins.sprx is edited to ignore the rsod. Would it work if I unpacked the 3.55 rsod pup and extracted that file then input it into a 4.30 rogero cfw? (not sure how possible that is but just a thought).
thanks

I have exactly the same issue, an unfixable rsod caused by a dead bit on my NOR.
The rsodfix pkg you have to run several times to fix temporarly only run on 3.55, so this is one problem. I tried to resign it for 4.21 REX but it didn't work.
And i also tried to put the basic_plugins.sprx modded(which ignores the rsod) but there are several issues, some texts in the xmb have a weird position(this is because the basic_plugins.sprx has changed in 4.XX+ firmware). Moreover, it seems using this .sprx mod prevent some functions from working, for example, i couldn't launch multiman.
We need someone to create another rsodfix pkg and a new sprx mod for 4.XX+
Anyway for now, it is better to stay in 3.55 with rsodfix pkg and .sprx mod.

Thanks for the reply! I am now stuck on a rsod with 4.30 firmware installed :s tried briefly to downgrade without much luck - the downgrade pup worked fine but when I put the rogero 3.55 firmware on the usb stick as it stated to do in the tut due to the fact it still shows a higher firmware, its not seeing it as a pup it can "update with" not sure if its because the qa flag needs to be reset as shown in the downgrade tut but I can't do this as I can access xmb. Did you actually get a 4.30 pup with the sprx file modded(I realise some stuff didn't work for you but hopefully I can then successfully downgrade if thats the case).
