Aye, I noticed that myself, too, after I wrote the whole thing and got it posted. But the forum software keeps bugging me about posting links so I can't update the damn thing yet.

Forum engine treats the name such a "PS3UPDATE. PUP" as a link, so you must put a space in the place where dot is.

It enables some extra safety checks and disables certain unwanted things, ie. it is necessary just to make certain the update will work and won't brick anything.

You missed a step in the dehashing procces. If you don't install the toggle QA flag and run it before intalling Kmeaw or OFW 3.55 you will not be dehashed and may brick your system.

Thank you all! Is it more safe install over OFW 3.55 and without toggle QA? I can do this in recovery mode? Im running kmeaw 3.55.

Both Kmeaw 3.55 and OFW 3.55 are perfectly safe, but you STILL need to toggle QA on either of them.

So, it's this how to? suppose to be?

*Dehashing the console first*
1) Make a folder named "PS3" on your USB-device, and then inside the "PS3"-folder make another folder called "UPDATE", ie. USB-device:/PS3/UPDATE/
2) Install the toggle QA flag and run it before intalling Kmeaw or OFW 3.55
2a) Place the PS3UPDAT.PUP from kmeaw-CFW-3.55 rar in there, ie. USB-device:/PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP
3) Plug the USB-device to your PS3
4) Boot to recovery mode
5) Remove any game discs from inside the console
6) Use "System Update" to install Kmeaw CFW 3.55

No, rehashing is only needed for downgraded consoles.

I kept telling her I didn't want to brick it so we waited and I was trying to make sure everything was cool with it.

You can stay on Kmeaw 3.55, but you will need to find fix for each new game released. If you don't want to do that you can install one of the newer 4.xx custom firmwares. The newer firmwares should let you surf the web just fine, if you mean using the web browser.
