rogero 4.30 to rebug downgrade I`m stuck [SOLVED] –
11-10-2012,09:39 AM
Hi!
today I try to install rebug CFW 421.1 but when I use downgrade 9.99 to rogero 4.3 everything go wrong.
First xmb dont work, only black screen. Then I change HDD and re install downgrade and now I can see XMB and install pack and rebug options.
But when I try install rebug 355.3 it says corrupt data etc... then I try OFW 3.55 and same message.
Whats wrong.
I have slim model and no disk on BD.

HOW TO RESOLVE THE DATA CORRUPTED ERROR (8002F169) when downgrading with DOWNGRADER 999 of rebug from CFW 4.30 rogero or 4.21 of rebug, when you already had QA FLAG ENABLED:
I had the same error do as follow:
- First check if QA FLAG is enabled? if so you have to DISABLE QA FLAG. you can use REBUG TOOLBOX (go to the last right option at UTILITIES) for this.
Also check on XMB under REBUG settings if 'system update debug' is turned OFF.
- Then install from RECOVERY MODE AGAIN Downgrader 9.99. If you want to know if it is installed correcly you should get after upgrading the official agremeent of SONY that you
have to accept. If you got this after the install of downgrader 9.99 then it is installed perfectly.
- After that, INSTALL AGAIN FROM recovery mode 3.55.3 rebug.
Also when updating from recovery mode. First turn off your PS3 not in standby mode but take the power cable off. Then install all the normal
cables. Including the controller cable plugged in the controller. Also install the usb memory stick where you are putting the PUP data file in it. The power cable should be plugged in the console
after you plugged in all the other cables first including the USB memory stick. Use also a formated FAT32 only.
NOTE: If this didnt work, then enable QA flag and turn ON 'system update debug' (you can find it on XMB under debug settings) and try to install rebug 3.55.3 REX from recovery mode.
NOTE 2: I had to repeat this process a couple of times before it worked. So not working at the first try doesnt mean that it doesnt work.
- AFTER THIS ENABLE AGAIN QA FLAG on CFW 3.55.3 with REBUG TOOLBOX, also turn ON 'system update debug'. This is important because the next time you downgrade from a higher
CFW you dont need downgrader 999 anymore but install directly 3.55.3 REX.
- Then from there you can install from XMB (if you upgrade to rebug CFW 4.21) or from recovery mode (if you upgrade to CFW 4.30 of rogero) the
desired CFW that you want like OFW 3.55, CFW 3.55 etc etc.
DO YOU KNOW WHY YOU GET THAT ERROR? It is Because if you have QA FLAG ENABLED YOU DONT NEED DOWNGRADER 9.99, YOU CAN INSTALL DIRECTLY 3.55.3
DOWNGRADER 9.99 IS ONLY FOR PS3 WHO UPGRADED to CFW 4.30 rogero or rebug 4.21 rex, WITHOUT HAVING QA FLAG ENABLED. DONT USE DOWNGRADER 999 FOR ENABLED QA FLAG PS3!!!!!!!!!

You need Rebug toolbox to do that.
Download it first from rebug website. (w w w . r e b u g. m e) (without space)
You get this: REBUG-TOOLBOX-02.00.00.pkg
Put this file on the root of your memory stick
and you install it as follow:
REBUG TOOLBOX
INSTALL:
1: In the PS3 XMB go to Game menu
2: Select Package Manager
3: Select Install Package Files
4: Select PS3 Hard Disk
5: Install REBUG-TOOLBOX-02.00.00.pkg
If you open Rebug toolbox go to the last map on the right. it is called UTILITIES
The first option you will see is TOGGLE QA FLAG (THIS SHOULD BE DISABLED) then
FOLLOW THE ABOVE STAPS.
LOOK ON THE WEBSITE OF REBUG THAT I GAVE YOU YOU WILL FIND THERE PICTURES OF TOOLBOX AND WHAT IT DOES.

I also had that kind of problem.
DID you put the .PUP file of 3.55.3 in a PS3 FOLDER on the root of your usb and named it PS3UPDAT?
it should be like this in your usb root: PS3\UPDATE\PS3UPDAT
Also when you turn on the ps3 to start it in recovery mode dont forget to do this:
Take out the power cable of the ps3 so it shouldnt be in STANDBY mode but realy shut it down. Take all the cables out including HDMI etc.
Then put the usb in it the cable of the CONTROLLER and the CABLE OF HDMI WHEN All this cables are installed first
Then you have to put in it the power cable. IMPORTANT THE POWER CABLE SHOULD BE PUT IN AT THE LAST MOMENT WHEN THE FOLLOWING CABLES ARE ALREADY IN IT:
First put in USB cable, Then controller cable and also put the cable in the controller, then put hdmi or other cable in it (for video output).
Then when you have done that THEN YOU NEED TO PUT THE POWER CABLE AT THE LAST MOMENT.
When you start it in recovery mode it should start installing automaticaly

your usb drive is it FAT32 formated?
Also when i was installing it i tried a couple of times when it started to work. I also keep getting the message 9.99 or higher but after a couple of times repeating the same
proces it worked.
Also when you installed downgrader 9.99 did you first get to accept a agreement of sony, the standard agreement that every FIRMWARE shows when you install a firmware.
If it didnt show you the agreement then you have to install downgrader 9.99 with QA FLAG DISABLED. FROM RECOVERY MODE.

Also try another USB if that one is not working.
I used also another one. And also format the whole usb stick and create only in it the PS3 File with nothing more.
Try it .
