Rogero 4.21 Brick PHAT Console Help
Rogero 4.21 Brick PHAT Console Help –
02-06-2013,07:00 AM
Hi guys, so I know this has probably been asked and talked about heaps and heaps and heaps, but in all honesty I want to be super super super serial serious and make sure everything I want to do is correct so I figured I might outline what I'm hoping to do and see whether its the correct way.
So basically back last year I was silly enough to install 4.21 Rogero right when it came out on my Phat PS3 (NAND) and bricked my console with a constant green light and black screen, now I want to unbrick it.
Basically my thought process is this:
First Buy a Progskeet v1.2 with programmer
Secondly Create a dump,
Thirdly post it to the togura forum to get a smart person to check it because I really don't trust myself with checking and patching my dump :P
Fourthly?? Flash my PS3 with the new dump,
and lastly enter FSM mode using my PSP to get into it.
My problems are firstly from the way I have it written down will this most likely work?? Would you suggest doing it differently?
My other major problem which is what I was very much hoping someone wouldn't mind helping me out with is attaching the progskeet to the ps3.
I want to use baileys guide (cant post full link as I don't have 30 posts to my name ) /ultimate-fool-proof-guide-ps3-hardware-downgrading-104398/ here and was wondering whether that is correct to do?
What I really want to know is the guide from bailey looks great for the progskeet v1.1 but will it also be correct or the same way on the v1.2?? It seems really new and I don't really want to buy it not knowing really how to use it :P.
The real problem I'm unsure of is the whole soldering and clip part, will I be able to follow the guide to be able to do it, or will the guide change since I'm using a progskeet v1.2 instead of the the v1.1.
I'm pretty okay with my soldering as I've done quite a bit, but I'm not as good in the electronics part so I'm unsure whether what I do is correct or not. Especially when I keep reading that they don't support clips anymore??

Send your ps3 to someone on here or ebay to have them un brick it for you. It'll probably be cheaper and of course easier. Type in ps3 downgrade on ebay... There ya go.

Unfortunately this doesn't really seem to be an option, cheapest I've found on eBay in my country is about $120 bucks, which isn't really worth the trouble. I've seen a few online in my area, but with the ones I keep talking to they always say they can't since they mostly use an e3 flasher which I don't think is compatible with a nand unfortunately
. I don't mind too much doing it myself as I've taken apart PS3's before just fixing and remarrying bluray drives. But It would be nicer if I could just pay someone to do it as I am lacking the experience :P haha.

You are going to have problems soldering to the NAND chips if you have never soldered before. Your "Secondly Create a Dump," that is the hardest part of the whole process, some chips will need power to read them, but then not write.
Send it to someone close to you and pay them because it is a big job.
Providing PS3 downgrades and service in New Zealand.
PM me for a reply.

I've soldered a few things before, a couple things but nothing special which is true, I didn't think I had to power the chip as the ps3 is still powered due to the constant green light?? I guess thats something I wasn't expecting.
Unfortunately as I said before I can't find anyone near me to do it, or at least to do it on a nand, the other thing is my ps3 doesn't mean too much to me. I have 2 xboxs and a wii and i just sold my other ps3, so I'm kind of weighing up whether its worth all the cost, I'm from aussie so what would be the price of your service for new zealand?
The other thing is I kind of looked at it more of a learning thing then anything, since I got a bricked console not doing anything figured I might go all for broke and see what happens :P haha, guess this all depends on price for me though
