Got a "broken" CECHG01 that wouldn't read discs. They didn't spin up or anything. Everything else worked fine on it, so I figured I'd just get a new laser for it. Putting a new laser in did not fix it, in fact, somewhere in the process of putting the laser in, it lost the ability to eject. With the top off, and a clear disc in, it would spin up and the laser would flash blue, red, sort of white, the alternate red/white, so I knew the laser worked at least. But I figured the drive itself was borked, because it wouldn't eject. I found another drive, swapped the logic board *and* the new laser into the drive, and... EXACTLY the same thing (wouldn't read the disc, wouldn't eject)
By this time I decided it was the logic board, and took the known working good board from the spare drive, attempted to swap the BGA firmware chip to it... ****ed up both boards, and possibly the chip too. (I couldn't get the solder to melt with a hot air gun. I tried a pencil torch, and it still wouldn't melt, but it lifted pretty much every trace/pad underneath the chip. Go figure)
I ****ing hate PS3s
I tried this brewology and download snes emu, but I got black screen I tried too, but I already know I haven't the original board and cannot use my ps3... please someone can find a bypassing solution to remarry ps3 with another blueray or at least a way to play games that dont need the disc... there is a lot of people waiting for this
Any news on remarrying?
An italian user called Diesel told me that it seems we could do the marriage using a specific xml program. So with this tool we could read the xml sony signed files. In the official jig manual here:
it seems you could use some usb drive to do the trick connecting the ps3 to a SCEI $ony's server.
I guess our devz here on the scene can find a way to do the same.. without server connection
repost that last one with a space in the url
It doesn't seem that hard, you just have to get the BR ID and add/remove it to the Revoke list.
I could revive atleast 20 Backwards 60g if i could get this working.
how do you suppose to do this?
