I think if it came down to it and I had to pay for access to a private network other than PSN, it would have to be pretty special. While I understand that fast servers and support are a must - a service that provides a unique experience for the end-user is where it's really at.

To be honest, PSN doesn't offer that and never really has, which is why the majority of people who have voted on the poll have gone the way they have gone - there just isn't enough of a reason for users to stay which is an indictment on Sony in itself.

I dunno why people are whining about paying for live. At least the servers are more stable and don't lag as much as psn. It's a once a year payment, you mean to say that you can't come up with $50-60 in a year?

Exactly xbox live offers a wide variety and as a sky subscriber it lets me use my 360 as an extra sky box so for £40 pound a year a am getting a excellent gaming service plus i can watch sky tv upstairs.

Well, with over 60 votes in already, its seems like most people are intent to stay on CFW, despite threats from Sony - what is probably most surprising is that there is a fair number who say they are selling their PS3 if the hammer falls.

One thing is certain though, it looks like most people aren't for turning when it comes to this.

If you think about it imo if your willing to install CFW then i can imagine your not bothered about PSN and bans etc, and with Sony trying the strong arm tactics isn't going to make people change there mind.

im staying on custom firmware 341 and keeping my dongel dont need psn only ever used it for black ops and mw2 any way a gameing console to me has been to play a game so am set

CFW only I don't need PSN at all. So they can ban my account, shit on it, or throw the hard drive that contains my account outside of a 50 story building and then take a sniper rifle to it for all I care.

I believe Sony was forced to come up with the new TOS agreement due to Hackers. The hacking was costing them money; look how the hacking screwed Call of Duty online play. Totally ruined the experience for everybody no one would purchase and play the games if the "playing field" is not level. How are you supposed to play against another player when they can jump 80ft in the air?

The Hackers forced Sony into a corner and Sony came out swinging. So the real bad guys here are the hackers that screwed up online play to begin with, need someone to scream at look in a mirror.
