Hey guys, I just have a general question about this,
I updated my ps3, so i can no longer jailbreak it. I bought a new ps3 which hopefully still has 3.41 (haven't plugged it in and checked yet). But I want to backup my files off the old PS3 and restore them on the new one. Should I do this after or before I jailbreak? Will this have any effect on the jailbreaking? Thanks
I guess that was a stupid question, as backing up your HD off your old PS3 won't allow you to move the copy righted saves/dlc/games to the old one. Is there any way to do it after I jailbreak?
Your only choice is using the backup utility in the System XMB, but you'll lose all your copy protected items.
Yah, that's what I did, but I lost several important saves :( oh well.
I was just wondering, now with the "ecosystem_Mod Spoofing 3.41 to 3.50" would I be able to use the transfer operation to transfer all my content from one (nonjailbroken) ps3 to another (jailbroken) ps3?
Don't use the backup utility.
Use the data transfer utility. It will copy over all copy-protected content from one PS3 to the other. Both need to be turned on and connected via Ethernet. Also, the PS3 receiving the data will have it's HDD formatted, so be aware of that.
With the new PSN access method, you should be able to run this utility and then login to PSN to activate all your DLC. Your saves should be fine.
